Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using MyKitchenDex ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MyKitchenDex is a personal recipe management application that allows users to save, organize, and manage recipes. The Service provides tools to parse recipes from URLs, paste recipe text manually, upload recipe photos, and organize recipes with tags and dinner planning.

3. User Accounts

Access to the Service is by invitation only. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify an administrator immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose of personal recipe management. You agree not to:

• Upload, post, or store any content that is explicit, pornographic, or sexually suggestive in nature
• Upload, post, or store any content that is hateful, harassing, threatening, or abusive
• Upload, post, or store any content that depicts or promotes violence or illegal activity
• Upload images unrelated to food, cooking, recipes, or kitchen-related subjects
• Attempt to circumvent any content moderation systems
• Use the Service to store or distribute content that infringes on any third party's intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, or impair the Service

5. Content Moderation

The Service uses automated moderation to review uploaded images before they are stored. Images that are determined to contain explicit, inappropriate, or policy-violating content will be automatically rejected and will not be saved. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you submit to the Service. By uploading content, you grant the Service a limited license to store and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. Recipe photos are stored in your personal recipe collection and are not shared with other users unless you are a member of a shared group.

7. Data and Privacy

Your recipe data and uploaded photos are stored securely on AWS infrastructure. Uploaded images are reviewed by an automated AI moderation system before being saved. Images submitted for recipe parsing (as opposed to recipe photos) are processed in memory and never stored. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any loss of data, service interruptions, or damages arising from your use of the Service. You use the Service at your own risk.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
